Epic is...well...epic

  Anna Senrick my Senior Lead Consultant at Fete Perfection has been driving me CRAZY these past few weeks asking if I'll be attending the Epic Open House which was {thankfully} tonight.  Yes Anna, I'll be there...no Anna I didn't forget...yes Anna I know where it is... so finally tonight arrives and yes what an event it was.

Epic opened in December 2007 after many millions of dollars in renovations under the watchful eye and careful guidance of my colleague Geri Wolf of The Style Laboratory.  Geri has a real eye for design and huge vision for potential and I believe her efforts were instrumental in making Epic Event Center what it is today.

Tonight, after much fanfare the event planner open house was held.  I always enjoy meeting and connecting with other professionals in this industry and tonight didn't disappoint.  I spent a few minutes with Geri and also chatted with Joan Nilsen of Ambiente, Darilyn Belsheim of D'Amico Catering, Matthew Trettle of The Weddings Guys, Marsh Edelstein and Ryan Hanson of Be Events to name a few.  

Everyone enjoyed the energy and sounds from the RFactor and what's an open house, especially for industry folks, without fabulous food?  Let's just say I didn't leave hungry.  Mintahoe, D'Amico, Buca & Chow Girls were there stuffing us with their delectible morsels.  Sadie Gardner of Sadie's Fine Floral provided centerpieces and Linen Effects the luxurious linens.

So after being a guest at this outstanding venue I can confidently recommend Epic Event Center to couples wanting to have a unique and memorable setting or to any corporate client with a reason to par-tay - Epic is the place.

Spotlight: 413 on Wacouta

With the opening of a great new event space, 413 on Wacouta the thought occurred to me that I have never spotlighted local venues...that trend stops now.  Introducing another beautiful building, the Historic Gilbert Building home to 413 on Wacouta.  I didn't take photos when I toured the space so will post a few from their website. 

More importantly however I want to share the news of their upcoming open house gala next Monday, February 9th from 4PM to 7PM enjoy the sounds of The Aurora Strings and Stratton String Quartet along with entertainment by Adagio.  Five preferred caterers will be highlighting their signature morsels along with four bakers satisfying your cravings for sweets.

Come meet Jules Meyer, the Director of Events who describes herself as having the best job in the world.  She is so attached to 413 she feels as though she is working at home.  I felt her pride and genuine appreciation for the opportunity to show off her space when we toured and I wish Jules and everyone at 413 huge success for not only the open house next week but long into the future.

Playa Fiesta

I love it when I find perfect new settings for my destination couples.  I just toured Playa Fiesta in Puerto Vallarta and think it's a great find and a great value.  The owners Lindsey and Adam are young, charming and clearly loving what they do.  Adam runs the property and manages the business, while Lindsey plans and coordinates the weddings.  They seem to have done everything right, because they're booked into January 2010.

What a small world...while touring their property I met a couple who is getting married there this upcoming weekend.  When I introduced myself as a wedding planner from Minneapolis they said they too live there.  Small world indeed.
